Virtual Roundtable

The Global
Learning Lab
The Global Learning Lab facilitates, harvests and spreads innovations in classroom leadership across, and beyond, the Teach For All network
Join Bi-Monthly Global Learning Lab Workshops
During 2018, the Global Learning Lab is hosting two monthly series of virtual learning experiences. The aim is to facilitate learning and sharing across the network around issues related to transformational learning and leadership development. Each workshop will invite external provocateurs to share their insights, knowledge and push our thinking. These monthly workshops are open to all and designed especially for staff, teachers, and alumni of Teach For All partner organizations.
The What Works Workshops explore What and How questions and are held on the 1st Wednesday and Thursday of each month.
The (Dis)Orientation Circles explore Who and Why topics and are held on the 3rd Thursday and Friday of each month.
Both workshops are scheduled for 9 am and 9 pm EST to accommodate different time zones.
Upcoming Workshops:
  • March 7 (and 8) | What Works Workshops
  • March 15 (and 16) | (Dis)Orientation Circles

Resources from the Roundtable

Short papers, summary engagements, train-the-trainer resources and more

Across the Teach For All network, we work with and for students served by education systems that were designed for different purposes, futures, and children. We aspire to challenge and change those systems in order to unleash all children’s potential as leaders of a better future for themselves and all of us. Across and beyond this network, we find people wrestling with two interrelated questions that arise from that aspiration:

  • What broader student outcomes should you aspire to, and why?
  • What "learning bets" should we make to pursue those broader outcomes, and why?

These questions were at the heart of the Roundtable. Since then, we’ve created resources & experiences to help deepen engagement on these pressing questions:

The whole Roundtable in 30 minutes. An interactive self-led experience in case you missed it or want to re-live the key points.

After the Virtual Roundtable we invested time in culling out key insights based on what our panelists said, and tried connecting the dots to internal and external examples of research and implementation.
These learning bundles are a result of this effort and are aimed at sharing:
  • Key ideas that we believe must be in consideration of all who are working on student outcomes
  • Resources from within and outside of the network to explore/sharpen our thinking of those ideas
These are for any partner staff in program design and participant training/support roles who are currently grappling with questions on choosing and enabling student outcomes. You can find the Learning Bundles here.

Interested in hosting your own discussion about student leadership? We created a resource - a “Virtual Roundtable in a Box” - to help. We would also love to support you further if you host a local conversation; email us.
